Our mission at VestaDAO is simple: cut through the bullshit and provide you with straightforward, reliable information about projects in the Metis ecosystem. We believe that you deserve clear, concise facts before you risk your hard-earned money.
The Problem:
The web3 space (and Metis in particular) has a pandemic of crappy information and with little to no oversight. How many times have you found yourself reading a project’s docs only to realize 16 pages in you still have no idea what they do or why it might be a good thing?
Projects love shoving (often made up) buzzwords everywhere and mixing them with every tech-sounding acronym they can find.
Result? The bare truth of what a project is trying to do is often obscured, even for well intentioned teams.
Why is this? Well there’s a few reasons:
- Tech-Heavy Teams: Teams often consist solely of developers who, while knowledgeable, struggle to present information in a way that the average investor can easily understand.
- Copycat Culture: During the last bull market, successful projects set a precedent for using complex jargon, and new projects followed suit, believing complexity equates to credibility.
- Some people just suck. No two ways about it; there are a lot of bad actors in this space. Many projects know that their token has no tangible value and so they use buzzwords to give the illusion of utility when there is none (“gOvErNaNcE”).
Furthermore, fostering an air of mystery has become the norm. Ever asked a simple question in a Telegram and received an answer like “Watch this space!” or “Big things coming!”?
Now imagine such responses in a corporate shareholder meeting – it wouldn’t be acceptable there, and it shouldn’t be here either.
We believe what Metis needs more than anything is to regain trust through accountability.
If only there were a project dedicated to achieving this…
Our Solution:
Our solution is simple: conduct in-depth, unbiased analyses of new and existing projects. We aim to demystify the ecosystem, one project at a time. Building on interviews we’ve already conducted, we aim to move away from hype and stick to the facts.
The plan is to release deep-dives on projects within the Metis ecosystem. These breakdowns will delve into the project’s fundamentals, including the team, tokenomics, and comparisons with similar projects in Metis and the broader web3 space.
Where possible, we will reach out to project founders for interviews to clarify any uncertainties “on the record.”
Our analysis will be presented as-is, with no investment recommendations. They will highlight both pros and cons, offering our simple and honest view. We will invite projects to address any concerns we identify and will update our reports if appropriate.
We hope that by creating a compendium such as this that more projects will engage in honest no B.S. marketing.
In short VestaDAO is here to shine a light on the Metis Ecosystem.
